Rocca Salvatesta, better known as “Rocca di Novara”, is the most significant relief of the Nebrodi, although not the highest (1430m a.s.l.). It is a spur of sandstone and granite rock which, due to its particular shape, has been called “the Cervino of Southern Italy”. The path, quite easy, winds up to the base of the summit, where there is a natural terrace, from which it is easy to admire the golden eagles that nest on the Nebrodi, and the breathtaking view between the Aeolian Islands and Mount Etna. We will have a picnic on the plateau at the foot of the summit. Then we will go to the town of Novara di Sicilia, famous for its Maiorchino cheese, for its pastry  and ancient legends. We will visit the Giorginaro Mill, an ancient water mill from the 1600s, on the S. Giorgio stream, where we will be able to observe the processing of wholemeal flours. During the visit to the mill, we will taste the “Maiorchino” a very tasty cheese, typical of the town of Novara. Free time (1 hour) to visit the historic center of the village. Return to the hotel. *The price  includes the picnic pack** and the entrance ticket to the Mill. **Picnic pack: sandwich with cheese, ham (cooked or raw) or vegetarian, bottle of water, 1 fruit, a snack.
